Floristry Day, 15th & 16th December 2010

Following a very successful floristry day in December 2008, it was decided to repeat the day, but offer two separate days for 2009.Tuesday 15th December and Wednesday 16th December 2009 saw 25 enthusiastic and budding ‘florists’ arrive each day at Wichenford Memorial Hall carrying a varied assortment of greenery to prepare a Christmas arrangement. Following a breathtaking demonstration of a table decoration by Sarah Hayes a local florist, the assembled group began their artistic creations. Sarah was of course on hand to advise and help when summoned, and without exception 50 fantastic decorations were made. Following this exhausting couple of hours, the group was rewarded with a glass of wine, a delicious lunch and a much needed chinwag.

Our thanks go to Sarah for all her help, and for the brilliant team of helpers who uncomplainingly cleared up! We would also like to thank Thompsons Electrical in Worcester who provided some fabulous raffle prizes and for prizes donated by other individuals. And last but not least everyone who came and supported the day, and who made it such fun!  The event made £689.37.  Thankyou, Lindsay Webb and Caroline Clutton-Brock.
